Chef Richland Nii Yemo Odoi embarked on his culinary journey in 2014, shortly after completing his secondary school education. At that pivotal juncture, he seized an opportunity that would set the stage for his remarkable career. He assumed the role of a kitchen cleaner at the now-defunct Chase Restaurant in Labone. It was within those kitchen walls, under the mentorship of Chef Elijah Addo, that his culinary aspirations began to flourish.
Immersed in the vibrant culinary environment and guided by the experienced hands of Chef Elijah, Richland’s dedication and eagerness to learn shone through. His unwavering resilience and pursuit of excellence captured Chef Elijah’s attention and respect. This rapport led to a pivotal turning point in Richland’s journey – he underwent training and skill development, equipping him with the tools he needed to excel within the realm of hospitality and tourism.
Hailing from the picturesque locality of La in Accra, Chef Richland has since carved out a name for himself as the Executive Chef at Laborracha Mexican Restaurant in Labone. His culinary prowess has been showcased at the helm of renowned establishments, including noteworthy restaurants such as Little Havana and Burger and Relish. Notably, he has also spearheaded the culinary endeavors of the GIZ COVID-19 intervention-sponsored “Food for Ghana’s Frontline” project, a testament to his leadership during challenging times.
Chef Richland’s influence extends beyond the kitchen, captivating the essence of Ghana’s food and tourism sector. His dedication to promoting local brands within this industry has added a distinctive flair to his journey. He is a Co-founder and Director of Programs & Projects at Chefs With Purpose.
